Shanghai Fuchan Machinery Debuts at Indonesia Water Exhibition
From August 13th to 15th, 2025, the Indonesia Water & Wastewater Expo was grandly held in Jakarta. Enterprises from multiple countries gathered together to explore new paths for water resource recycling and the development of environmental protection technologies.
Shanghai Fuchan Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. made a stunning appearance with its independently developed core sludge treatment equipment and systematic solutions. Relying on its high-efficiency and energy-saving technical advantages and service capabilities tailored to local needs, the company reached a number of cooperation intentions on-site.
As Southeast Asia's largest economy, Indonesia is facing environmental challenges brought by accelerated urbanization and industrial development. Data shows that Indonesia generates over 34.27 million tons of domestic waste annually, while the national harmless sewage treatment rate is less than 40%. Meanwhile, its water resource recycling market size is expected to grow from 14.8 billion US dollars in 2025 to 32.7 billion US dollars in 2031, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.9%.
Against this backdrop, the Indonesian government has vigorously supported the construction of environmental protection infrastructure through policies such as subsidies and tax incentives, and tightened wastewater discharge standards, creating broad space for high-quality environmental protection equipment to enter the local market.
The wear-free screw press displayed by Shanghai Fuchan Machinery is an innovative product developed to address the pain points of traditional screw presses, such as "easy wear, high maintenance, and frequent shutdowns".
The equipment adopts a unique "camshaft swing drive" design, which drives the floating ring through an independent swing mechanism, completely breaking the technical limitation of "direct contact friction between the floating ring and the screw shaft" in traditional models. At the exhibition site, the staff intuitively demonstrated the non-contact operation state of the moving ring and the screw shaft through the equipment's transparent observation window and dynamic demonstrations. Moreover, there is no need to shut down for sludge cleaning or parts replacement during operation, which perfectly meets the core demand of sewage treatment plants for "cost reduction and efficiency improvement".
"The Indonesian market has high requirements for the stability of environmental protection equipment and localized services. What we bring is not only products, but also full-chain solutions," a representative of Fuchan Machinery introduced. Targeting Indonesia’s characteristics of wide island distribution and complex sewage composition, the company has specially optimized the equipment’s corrosion resistance and modular design, which can flexibly adapt to the treatment needs of different industries such as food processing, textiles, and chemicals.
Founded in 2007, Shanghai Fuchan Machinery has been deeply engaged in the environmental protection field for 18 years and has formed an integrated "R&D-production-sales-service" system. Its products cover the whole country and are exported to multiple countries along the "Belt and Road". This appearance at the Indonesia Water Exhibition is an important step for the company to lay out the Southeast Asian market.
"The Indonesian environmental protection market is in a period of explosive growth. We hope to take technology as a bridge to combine China's mature sludge treatment experience with local needs, and while helping Indonesia achieve environmental sustainable development, build a win-win industrial ecosystem," the representative of Shanghai Fuchan Machinery stated. In the next step, the company will focus on promoting technical cooperation with local Indonesian enterprises, jointly developing environmental protection equipment with greater cost advantages, and injecting new momentum into China-Indonesia green cooperation.
